The Gold Standard For Early Childhood Education

Christ Greenfield Preschool is the only NAEYC-accredited preschool in Gilbert and has been serving families in the East Valley since 1986. We provide a high-quality, Christ-centered, and community-focused learning environment for children ages 2 to 5 years old.

We are also accredited with the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) and partner with Quality First to ensure that we are providing our families with the very play-based Preschool environment possible.

2's Beginners: This introductory class is for children who are 2.5 and fully toilet-trained. Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

3's Preschool: We offer 2-day and 3-day schedules. Students may attend just the morning session or may stay for a full day.

4s' PreK: Our older students can attend 3-day or 5-day mornings or full days.

Currently, our schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00-11:30 Morning Session
  • 11:30-3:00 Afternoon Enrichment (added to a morning session; not available for 2's Beginners)

Our schedule is changing for the 2024-2025 school year!

  • 8:45-11:45 Morning Session (3's PS and 4's PK)
  • 11:45-3:05 Afternoon Enrichment (added to a morning session; not available for 2's Beginners)
  • Our 2's Beginners class will remain 9:00-11:30 am

We believe in serving families with the best preschool education possible. This is why we focus on teaching children the core values of Christ and helping them grow in their faith.

Curriculum:

  • The Beginner's Bible: Introduces children to the stories and people of the Bible as they discover the truth of God’s Word through engaging lessons. Each Preschool student receives a Beginner's Bible to read with their family at home.
  • Concordia Publishing House: Encourages faith development and spiritual growth in the Triune God. Students attend Chapel every other week.
  • Fundations and Zoo Phonics: Phonemic awareness and literacy building
  • Love and Logic: Principles for providing respectful and caring discipline in the classroom
  • Early Learning Standards: Based on the Arizona Department of Education

A day in the life of a preschooler at Christ Greenfield School includes:

  • Centers: Children choose an activity that encourages strengthening social skills, sharing, communication, and self-regulation.
  • Jesus Time: Children gather for Bible stories and songs that foster their spiritual growth and development.
  • Playground Time: Children increase physical development by building gross motor, social, and safety skills.
  • Circle Time and Group Activities: Our group activities are teacher-directed and include Jesus time, story time, songs, group discussion, science, language, and math instruction.
  • Snack Time: Teachers continue to engage with students during Snack Time. Parents provide an individual snack each day.
  • Spanish lessons: PreK students receive a weekly Spanish lesson.
  • Afternoon Enrichment - Students who stay for a full-day have the following added to their day of learning:
    • “Lunch Bunch”: Lunch (provided by parents) and Playground
    • Quiet Time - students do not nap, but they are guided by teachers to enjoy 15-20 minutes of “downtime” before afternoon fun and learning begins
    • Centers, Circle Time, Group Activities, Author Studies, and Jesus Time that build on the morning's lessons
    • Additional Spanish lesson for PreK
    • Artist Spotlight (Art class) for PreK
    • Additional Playground Time

We know that a small class size is the best way to ensure your child receives the individualized attention he or she deserves. Our low student-to-teacher ratio is just one of the many ways we go above and beyond to create a supportive environment for learning. We limit class size far below the ratios set by State Licensing in order to meet the high-quality standards set by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). We also have multiple Specialists, Interventionists, and Floating Assistants who support learning.

Christ Greenfield School provides a unique learning experience for young learners through an afternoon Enrichment Program. Our curriculum is designed to promote our students' creativity and problem-solving skills by providing them with an extended day of learning. We offer enrichment classes that not only educate but also provide a social outlet for collaboration.

Afternoon Enrichment is from 11:30-3:00 and can be added for any child in our 3's Preschool or 4's PreK program. Class sizes are limited with even lower ratios than our morning session.

Each class is consistently staffed with a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher. We have a low turnover rate for staff and hold very high standards for educational excellence and specialized training in early childhood development. The teachers provide an environment that is tailored to meet the needs of each student, while also partnering with the parents to provide a safe, healthy, and happy learning experience.
